Your visit record at any of our 4 clinics is quickly accessible by your Barrie Family Physician enabling a first-rate standard of care.
Only the 4 locations listed on this website are operated by the Barrie & Community Family Medicine Clinics. Clinics not listed here are not affiliated with our Barrie Family Physicians and do not have access to our EMR or your Family Physician electronically.

What is a Family Health Organization (FHO)?
The Barrie Family Health Organization (BFHO) is a group of 87 family physicians who are working together to give you and your family better access to quality primary services. BFHO Physicians commit to providing extended hours of service and our Physicians meet this commitment through the operation of the Barrie & Community Family Medicine Clinics.
In addition, our Barrie Family Health Organization Physicians and FHO enrolled patients also have access to allied health professionals through our Barrie & Community Family Health Team www.barriefht.ca.
What is a Family Health Team (FHT)?
Family Health Teams are health care organizations that include a team of family physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers, dietitians, and other professionals who work together to provide health care for their community. Family Health Teams provide more services and a wide range of health options.

Do I have to be a Barrie FHO Patient to visit the Barrie & Community Family Medicine Clinics?
No. The Barrie & Community Family Medicine Clinics opened their doors in 1987 to the public. We welcome all patients to our clinics, whether you have a Barrie Family Physician, an out of town physician or currently are without a physician.
Are the other walk-in clinics in Barrie affiliated with the Barrie & Community Family Medicine Clinics?
No. Only the four locations listed on our website are operated by the Barrie & Community Family Medicine Clinics. Clinics not listed on our website are not affiliated with the Barrie Family Health Organization (BFHO) or the Barrie & Community Family Health Team (BFHT). Other walk-in clinics do not have shared Electronic Medical Records (EMR) with our organizations.
Is ONLINE REGISTRATION available at Barrie & Community Family Medicine Clinics?
Not Currently. We are looking into options for this service however it is important to the Barrie & Community Family Medicine Clinics that we continue to provide equitable access to Health Care for all patients.
Implementing Online Registration will reduce access to Health Care for patients who cannot afford to pay for the service and those who do not have easy access to the Internet and a valid Credit Card.
Why do wait times vary?
Wait times will vary based on patient volume, complexity of patient issues, number of physicians working, and physician speed. Our receptionists do their best to predict wait times with the information they have. To assist our receptionists please ensure that you disclose all of the reasons for your visit and inform the receptionist if you have to leave the queue.
Why are doors closed before the posted time?
Our clinics are available to care for patients until the posted time. To maintain our hours of operation, on high volume days we will register the approximate number of patients the physicians on site will be able to see by the posted closing time. We encourage patients to arrive as early as possible to avoid missing registration. We appreciate your understanding.
